Peter Cottontail, Don't Bother Stopping By Our House...

Last weekend we dug out the Easter basket for the annual Redden Easter Egg Hunt.  Addie was very "eggcited" about getting out of the house to get some candy.  Since Baby Drew went with us, Mommy had to bring her entourage, witch included LiLi, Nene, and Aunt Kristen, with her to manage the 3 year old and the newborn.  Addie remembered the egg hunt from last year at Seaside and was ready to flex her egg collecting muscle.

Addie finding her spot until the festivities kick off.... on the swing!

Drew not realizing he is suppose to be hunting for eggs... maybe next year.  Nene and Aunt Kristen took great care of him while I spent time with Addie.

Well Addie was having a great time on the playground until "somebunny" made his appearance.  Then she turned into this little girl.

We had to make a mad dash for the eggs so I could put her down because all she could say when the Easter Bunny was this close was, "Hold Me!!! Hold Me!!!"

After we got away from the bunny, Addie was on a mission to collect the golden plastic eggs.

She looked in trees, she looked in playhouses, and she looked under fences.  Then she decided that the plastic eggs were not that great so she emptied out the candy and threw the plastic eggs back on the ground.  The quote of the day came from another parent who saw Addie's trail of emptied plastic eggs and stated, "Hey the big kids are just taking the candy!"  I replied, "No, it's not the big kids... that would be my 3 year old."  Gotta love Addie's style of hunting for Easter Eggs.

Addie telling me it is time to go because the Easter Bunny is still lurking around.  Not even a cupcake could get her to stay.  Now that is fear for this little one to turn down butter cream icing.

Happy Easter Everyone!!!

Signs Of Spring...

It is that time of year that this little girl absolutely loves.... SPRING!!!!
She has been waiting for about a month for the "slaowers" (aka flowers) to bloom in front of our house.   Even though we have told her a million times that the flowers are called daffodils, she insists they are called sunflowers.  What can I say.... this is one child I could not teach.

Daddy helping our little Gardener.  She brought them inside for me and then quickly took them back when I placed them in the vase.  That's Addie love for you.

We also had are first "cookout" of the warm weather season when the Sanders' bunch came to visit Baby Drew.  Poppy bought big sister and aspiring soccer player a practice goal.  Thanks to Uncle Clint and Aunt Kristen for putting it together and playing with Addie.

What can I say Spring is in the air!!!

William Andrew Is Here!!!!!!

Our little boy finally made his appearance this week after 39 weeks and 6 days of waiting!  Tuesday morning I woke up not feeling especially happy and knew that March 23, 2010 was going to be the day.  After getting ready, waking up Kyle, tidying up the house, and getting Addison to LiLi and Poppa's house, Kyle and I were off to Baptist Hospital.

Gotta love drugs!!!!  This is one happy momma.
Kyle and I passing the time until I can push
.
Kyle's thinks he went to medical school and is going to get to catch this baby.

After five hours of labor and about six pushes, Drew makes his mark on the world @ 1:57 pm.

The proud grandparents were not far behind...

Everyone is watching Drew get cleaned up.

Future golfing buddies.

Happy St. Patty's Day!!!!!

So did you have the luck of the Irish today?

Because these little girls did...

A round belly leprechaun, by the name of Ashley, made rainbow cupcakes for two special little girls.  Just call it a little nesting going on these days at the Sanders' house.   I guess this momma did not have the luck of the Irish today because the baby boy still is baking in the oven. Maybe the first day of spring?

Meatloaf, Meatloaf, I Love Meatloaf????

No... not this Meatloaf.

But this meatloaf.

Kyle and I have decided that Addie is a big girl and it is time to stop "aiding and abetting" her picky eating.  Since Addie was a baby, she has put up a battle when it comes to food and textures.  She is the only child I know that would gag on Cheerios and will not put mac 'n cheese in her mouth to save her life.  It is something that we have laughed at for two years but really have not owned up to our part in the problem.  So last night we decided Addie would get what was prepared for the family.  We were ready for the mutiny from Addie when we placed her plate down with meatloaf, peas, asparagus, and yogurt (the yogurt was our way of making sure she didn't throw the plate back at us).  Her face was priceless but she did not put up that much of a fight in the matter.  She ate her yogurt first and then we told her "how great the dinner sausage was" and to our surprise she ate the small portion that was on her plate.  All I can say is thank God for ketchup.  Now I will say Addie probably would not use the word love for her dinner last night and the veggies were still not touched but it was a start and this momma was very happy.  Maybe she will eat a veggie before her fourth birthday... we will have to wait and see.

Addison's Third Birthday February 23, 2010

This past Friday, I took Addie for her three year old well-child exam.  I am so grateful for this healthy three year old girl.  I just hope our next little addition is as healthy as Addie Reese.  It is music to this mamma's ears to hear the Doctor say, "Haven't seen you since last year's well child exam!"  Addie did really well with the doctor poking and looking with his "flashlight". The nurse did not fair as well I do have to say.  Getting Addie to stand on the scale was like getting a cat into a bath tub and measuring for her height was not much better.  After Addie with her new found three year old strength knocked down her pregnant, balanced impaired mother, who was also sweating and red-in-the-face, I looked at the nurse with pity and said, "Can we just lay her down on the infant chart."  Upon laying her down on the chart we found that she is just a little longer than the 3 feet mark... this is when I looked at the nurse and said, "Guesstimate!!"
After this little hurdle in the checkup I was a proud momma when Addie answered the questions from the doctor and passed her eye exam.

So how does Addie Reese grow at 3?
Height: 37 inches
