What are you looking at?

This is how Addie rolls in the garden these days.

Five Months...

Another month has rolled by and I am still growing way too fast in my mommy's opinion.  I weigh about 18 pounds now and I am about 28 inches long.  I absolutely LOVE to eat my food.  I flap my arms and grunt when my bowl comes my way.  I eat cereal two times a day now and I love it when fruit gets mixed in with it... yummy!!!

I am getting more active and can wiggle around in my crib.  Sometimes mommy and daddy find me in the corner of the crib with my head in the slats.  Not fun.  I am rolling over more and enjoy laying down on my tummy more.

As for sleeping, I am still waking up some during the night but for the most part I am doing better.  If I get my three naps during the day, I am more likely to sleep through the night.  I am also loving my days at Granny Franny's.  She always lets me have great naps.  On Mondays I also get to visit Ms. Jessica.  She spoils me rotten because it is just me and her!

Daddy got a new toy out for me and I really like it!  They call it an exersaucer.   Mommy and Daddy love to put me in it and leave... so I just play.

Just like that...

My little girl is in preschool... not mother's day out... not at Granny Franny's house but... PRESCHOOL!

Well she has been in preschool since August 9th, but this picture has been sitting in my camera for a few weeks for a reason.  My battery charger was left here and I did not realize it until all power was out.  I am just happy I was able to get the moment.
Addie was very excited to start back to school or as she calls it "preschool camp."  This is her way of telling us she is at a different place verses last years "school" aka Mother's Day Out.  Kyle had the pleasure of dropping off Addie for her first day festivities of painting a sunflower and reading The Kissing Hand.  When I say pleasure, I use this is a very sarcasitic way because "firsts" with Addie are always hard but she did a great job according to her daddy.  She found her cubby, her name tag, and her desk.

This is where I just cannot wrap my head around the fact that my baby has gone from rattles, diapers, pac 'n plays and bottles to rules, calendar time, line leaders, and backpacks in what I feel was a blink of an eye.  I use to think the students I taught were so big but now it is dawning on me that they are just babes.  At my school, especially the kindergarten teachers, play the "when will the teacher kids come?" game.  I about fell in the floor when my little Addie's name was brought up in the conversation.  Someone said, "She only has two more starts."   Time. Goes. By. To. Fast.   So here is to a year of learning... I pray she finds good friends, a spirit to be a life learner,  patience to listen, wisdom to do the right thing, confidence to try something new and courage to face her fears.

the little things...

To  most people, this picture might mean a potty victory after months of wet panties, but to me it is a sign to appreciate the little things.  For about two months I have been asking Addie to keep her shorts and panties on when using the bathroom.  This might seem like a simple task to complete for most children but for my sweet, I-like-to-do-it-my-way little girl it is not.  Addie likes to kick off her shorts and panties into the air... she calls it her little trick.  Most days I do not mind but then Addie needs "help" getting the shorts and panties back on.  This is where the problem comes in because there is another child in this house who needs my attention also.  If I am not able to help, Addie falls to the ground and the end of the world is here.  But on this day, I was sitting at the table and I heard a little voice call out, "Look momma... I keep my panties and shorts on just like you!"  Like I said before... it is the little things that make you most happy sometimes.

Sweet Baby Bane...

Today I celebrated the life of a sweet baby boy.  A little boy who was on this earth for nine short months but will inspire for years to come.
Please follow Bane's blog and lift his family in prayer.
