Addie in Wonderland

We celebrated big this year for Addie's 6th birthday.  I declare, the older kids get the longer their birthday's last.  We celebrated all weekend long this precious little girl and had a great time doing it.

Addie invited 6 of her dearest friends over for a tea party sleepover.  I loved the mix of friends she chose.  One of the little girls... can you guess... has been her buddy since she was born, one has been her Sunday school friend since they got into the nursery together, two more came along in mother's day out when I took a year off to stay home, and the newest one is from her kindergarten class.  Talk about a sampling of friends to cover the first six years of Addie's life.
We squealed, played, dressed up, acted silly, and painted pottery.  It was so much fun with not a lot of drama.   We enjoyed the little girls... and they did not even have a little bother... I mean brother named Drew to get in their way.  I LOVE my little boy but he would have put a damper in the festivities.

Kyle and I were hoping the little girls would fall asleep during the presentation of Brave.  2 out of the 6 fell asleep.  We took the girls upstairs to Drew and Addie's rooms for the night.  When the 2 sleepy heads woke up the next morning, they could not believe that Mr. Kyle carried them upstairs... they said "My dad won't even carry me upstairs."

The next moring, we woke up bright and early.  These little girls ate through 5 dozen donut holes.  We opened up presents and played till it was time to go.  Addie then was showered once again by her family and friends for cake and ice cream.  Addie learned this year that Drew loves to blow out candles... he got to hers before she could.

Addie's big present came from none other than Poppy.  He surprised Addie and Drew with a four wheeler and jeep power wheels.

All in all it was a wonderful celebration of a wonderful little girl.
