Drew Is 2!!!

It has happened again in the Sanders' house. A little boy is having a birthday and now we are in the land of the terrible two's. I am sure little Drew will not but that much of a terror this year. After all just look at the sweetness that has been...

Drew @ one day old. He was a hefty little one weighing in at 8 lbs. 8ozs. This picture was taken the morning he came back from the nursery. Mommy and Daddy had a great night of sleep since he slept in the nursery for 5 hours.... he would not do that again until he was 6 months old. So sweet and perfect. He still likes to sleep with his hand next to his mouth like that... or with his hands behind his head.

He is the best little boy. Rough and tough one minute. Sweet and cuddly the next.

One of my favorite pictures of Drew and me. Taken by a friend who knows just HOW much I love pictures. I was showing her Drew's room one day when she came to visit. This picture is me..in my little boy's room... in the newborn haze... just loving my boy. Every night, when I rock Drew before bed, we still rub noses... I wonder how long that will last????

Drew is still a messy eater just like he was @ 6 months.
He has traded rice cereal for sandwiches (he especially loves daddy's), grapes, granola bars, and bananas, and pizza.

Just like a year ago when he turned 1, he loves to be "owside".
We have to plan how to get him inside.
Our plan usually involves bringing in his Mickey four- wheeler or big wheel truck.

And now the little boy is starting to look more and more grown up.
Trading the baby chubs for lean muscles. It is just hard to believe
He.is.two.

What's happening with Drew???? Here is the top 10.
  1. He weighs about 29lbs.
  2. He goes to bed at 8pm and wakes up around 7:30... but has been known to sleep till 9. Heaven help us when he hits the teenage years.
  3. He is talking more and more each day. Some of his favorite words: "Me too." "ilk" for milk. "Ew gross"
  4. Loves to play outside and this is his first request when he wakes up in the morning.
  5. He loves to bug his sister. He steals Mr. Bear and runs around the house trying to get Addie to chase him.
  6. Sleeps with the following: his blanket, a Tennessee Snuggie, a stuffed monkey, a pillow pet, Barney, a baby doll, and a stuffed puppy dog.
  7. His favorite shows to watch: Barney, Little Einsteins, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
  8. Favorite Books: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and any book with flaps.
  9. Loves to draw.
  10. Has the best laugh when he is tickled on the inside of his leg.

My Spring Break List of Fun....

  1. Went to dinner with the best kindergarten team ever... 4 hours of girl talk will never get old.
  2. Had a beauty day getting my hair done and chopped off... 3 inches gone!
  3. Made pancakes and had a picnic in the living room and watched WAY too many cartoons.
  4. Played outside and smelled the flowers.
5. Enjoyed the sunshine and the newness of Spring. Walked at the lake and fed the ducks.

6. Ran a lot after this little guy.

7. Watched a hail storm but got this "Banebow" after it.

8. Went to visit Ninnie and Poppy and went to a tea party.
9. This little girl's wish came true with a face full of hearts.

10. And a plate full of sweets...

11. Rode Poppy's new four wheeler.
12. Played at Ninnie and Poppy's house, loved on them, and ate dinner.
13. Played outside with this little guy when Addie was at Miss Carlene's. Boy does he like his alone time with Mommy.
14. Had the best lunch date everyday.
15. Did some spring cleaning: changed out closets, tagged clothes for consignment sale (which Addie states "Took me weeks to finish."), washed carpets, and waxed floors. Not fun but had to be done.

16. Watched this little boy get smarter and smarter by the day. In this pic, he is taking off his shoes and putting them by the door.

17. Played dress up, princesses, carnival, and polly pockets.

18. Hung out with Hayden, Jason, and Kellie. It is fun to watch these two get together.

19. Listened to Addie's story about wanting to eat at the Chinese Restaurant so she could eat with chop sticks. I found this funny because Addie eats pizza when we eat Chinese but the little girl got her wish. This Chinese place had chicken fingers and fries:) And to my surprise, she used the chop sticks pretty well.

20. Had Popsicle picnics.
21. Began planning our circus party for Drew.
22. Went to the park. Played in the creek and the dirt. Got really dirty and loved every minute of it.
23. Had play date with Stella and Thad. The doll house and bouncy house were a hit.
24. Went to the zoo.
Enjoy the little things,
for one day you may look back
and realize they were the big things.

A Princess Party...

Once upon a time there was a princess named Addie Reese. She had to turn 5 sooner or later, so her friends and family came to celebrate the milestone one Saturday afternoon.

She had a cake fit for a princess thanks to her LiLi. This little princess was in love with her cake as soon as it came in the door. A cake in the shape of a castle... and it was pink!!!

The friends and family came. Little girls dressed in sparkly gowns and crowns. Little boys dressed in ties, capes, and we even had one Prince Charming come down from his kingdom of Franklin. We decorated crowns and tried on Princess Addie's gown collection.

Drew is not sure if he wants to be a princess or prince??? He is sure of one thing... he does not want to miss a thing.

Some of the Royal Family that came to celebrate
Jason, Poppa, LiLi, and Aunt Rita

After some play and fun with friends, Queen Ashley decided it was time for a sugar high. Princess Addie made a wish... hard to believe there are 5 candles on that cake!

Little Cinderella Kate
Has she lost her glass slipper???

Princess Addie planned this game of pin the crown on Belle the night before. She colored the picture and helped me cut out the crowns. It was a blast watching the little princesses peek from the blindfold.

But the highlight was King Kyle playing and "running" into the door.

Next on the party list was the castle pinata. We had a plastic bat at first, but these little dainty princesses could not hurt the castle. So King Kyle brought out the heavy artillery... the golf club.

It did the trick.

Present time. Princess Addie had three present requests for her birthday. So we would not forget, she made her royal parents a list with check boxes next to the requests

  • A pink bible
  • A jewelry box
  • An American Girl Doll Outfit

Drew loving the paper...

Uncle Clint and Drew just taking all of the "girlness" in.

Addie and Poppy

Do you notice that Princess Addie has traded in her ballgown for PJs? She is fading fast.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS ADDIE!!!!!
