Marvelous Monday at the park

Who could not love this weather we have been having here lately?  To celebrate the last day of August with highs in the 70s and no humidity, I decided to take Addie to Montgomery Bell Park for a morning of fun and play.  Addie is truly an outside girl when the weather is right.  We climbed, ran, walked by the creek, and played on the swings.  Sometimes I could go crazy if I hear Addie say, "Mommy come here, Mommy come here!"  during the days of busyness.  But today it was just us having fun together and it made me think how little time we truly have with each other before she is all grown up.

A quick pic with mommy before she is off to the next thing.
I think I am going to start calling Addie "Speedy"

Going down the "big" slide without Mommy this time.

Hanging on the ladder.

Addie's favorite way to swing... on her belly.
I am going to go ahead and apologize to all of her future teachers for her playground etiquette

In this video, you can tell that Addie is a true girl because her counting is not quite up to par but the ABC's is almost there.

The Potty Diaries Part Deux...

Well Addie finally decided that going to the potty is a pretty cool thing.  I don't know if she has grown up that much this summer, or if she is enticed by the sugary smarties as her reward. She has been wearing big girl panties for about two weeks now and has been very successful. Kyle and I were surprised at how few times a day Addie goes.  This petite two year old child can hold her pee better than any swimmer can hold their breath. It amazes me that some days she only goes three times.  So far in the potty training times we have only had one casuality.... Addie's Tinkerbell panties had to be sent to the trash.

This past week I began to get brave and take her out in public in the big girl panties.  Luckily we have not had to venture into the public bathrooms yet, but I know those days are numbered. All to soon, Addie will have to potty at the dreaded Walmart or convenience store, and I am ready with Lysol and wipes.

My sweet baby girl on her princess potty seat.  Oh how time flies.

Swimming the Summer Away

Addie has become quite the avid aquatic master this summer.  She has no choice in the matter as this is my favorite week day past time.   Addie loves  her "slog" float.  She calls it this because the float has frogs on it but Addie cannot pronounce "F's" very well.  She loves to chase balls and frisbees all over the pool, and throws rings to the bottom, and then makes me get my hair wet by diving after them.

Here is Addie with her favorite pal, Aubree Lane Reynolds.  As you can tell from the look on their faces, they are usually planning or scheming their next attack on parents or siblings.  They have a blast together, and Addie always asks about Aubree when we go somewhere.
