Ordinary Days for November....

With the holidays just around the corner, it is nice to have just ordinary days with a little bit of craziness mixed in.

Drew just cannot understand why we lock the doors to the bathroom????

A little bit of art while I was preparing dinner... if only it was like this every night... but you have to take the good when you can get it.! Addie is getting into the Christmas spirit with her Christmas tree drawings. Drew just loves to scribble and that is nice because Addie was getting tired of him sucking on the markers.

While eating at Cracker Barrel the other night, Addie ate a veggie without even knowing it. Usually when we dine at Cracker Barrel, Addie just eats a biscuit. We always ask if she want something else but we get the same answer... "No, I just take a biscuit please." On this night, when our food came, Addie wanted some chicken. I had fried okra so I just passed it to her and to our surprise she ate it. So here is the question, is it better to fry the veggies or no veggies at all??? This picky eater parenting is for the birds.

We celebrated a very happy birthday for Mr. Evan. Addie was pretty down about a Spiderman birthday but the cake and ice cream made it better.

Saturday Morning Cartoons

Playing with my nephew Hayden when he came to visit with LiLi.
Mommy and daddy were in Miami at a dental conference.

Kyle and I on a "Wicked" date night.

Drew showing off his stacking skills...

And introducing the newest spokesman for the local coffee shop...
No he does not drink coffee. He just likes to pretend and say "ah."

Wish I was on Ole' Rocky Top...

Kyle and I took our little Addie Reese to visit Rocky Top a few weeks ago for homecoming. We thought Drew would be hard to handle... an understatement... in the stadium for a 7:00 kickoff so he went to Lexington to visit Ninnie and Poppy for the weekend. Addie was pretty excited to be an only child but only for a few moments. We were barely out of the Dickson city limits when she uttered the comment with tears welling up in her eyes, "I miss Drew." But we were back on track when we told her about the indoor swimming pool and the big bed that was just for her and her "friends" (yes only my child can get away with packing a whole trash bag of stuffed animals for a 48 hour trip)

Addie lining up her crew at the hotel.

Our little cheerleader doing her best toe touches on the bed.

Homecoming is always a great game to take the family to and the weather was perfect. It was a great fall day and the leaves around campus were beautiful. Kyle and I had a great time walking around telling Addie about our time at UT....

When we showed Addie the Humanities building and told her that is where we first met she asked, "What did you and Daddy have for snack on your first day of school?"

When I showed Addie Hess Hall (my first dorm), I told her that was my first home away from LiLi and Papa's house. She asked, "Who was your mommy? Who took care of you?"
I just love how she brings it back to her perspective of life... I on the other hand was thinking "Who did take care of me?" I was 18 and this will be Addie in 14 years... oh my!

Addie got to meet a real cheerleader. She was shy at first and did not like all of the attention but Brittney, the cheerleader, was nice and got Addie to warm up to her with her pom-poms.

Not that I am biased or anything but I think Addie could have won the cutest four year old cheerleader. Do the VOLS need a mascot cheerleader????

At least the stadium is nice because the football team??????

The Homecoming Banners. Addie liked this one because it had glitter on it.

Tailgating with Amanda and family...

Addie and the Pride of the Southland... Addie is all about the pageantry of college football but the actual game.... not so much. The band was not even off the field from the pregame show and she asked, "It is over?"

Mr. Bear's 2nd Trip to Neyland...

Our Half Time and 3rd quarter visit with Knox and crew...

Touchdown Tennessee!!!!

When we were walking back to the car,
Addie asked, "Do you think I will go to school here someday?"
My answer, "Only time will tell."

Halloween Week Extravagnaza....

Halloween might just be a day on the calendar but in the life of today's children the festivities last about a week. We had preschool parties... costume day at dance... Harvest Celebration at church... and the actual Halloween night. The picture roll that follows pretty much captures the spooky and cooky week.

Playing a dice game at preschool

Addie and Makayla

Weighing and buying her pumpkin at the "patch"

Playing on the playground

Two happy girls having a lot of fun.
Addie's face when I walked in was great... she did not know I was coming:)

Costume Night at Miss Amy's

Addie's fins got in the way of her groove...

Forget letting mommy help.

Trick or Treating on Main Street.

Meet Ariel and Sebastian

Watching the puppets that Drew ABSOLUTELY loved. When the show was over he cried and threw a fit. Life lesson #2453 Harvest Celebrations at 3pm are very hard on a 19 month old who has not had a nap.

Aubree and Addie

The Little Mermaid meets Alice and Wonderland...

Knox as Bam-Bam.

Papa and LiLi came to check out the fun...

Getting ready to trick or treat..

Why are we going for more candy when they already have some in their hands????
Drew is thinking crab costume+ car seat= misery.

Stopping by Ms. Carlene's.

Drew and his buddy Maverick

We are officially candied out and Addie is already planning next years costume selections for Drew and her.... this week it is a cheerleader and football player... we will give it about 360 days and see.
