Happy Birthday Addie Reese!!!

It is official... we have exited the 2's and have entered the 3's!

After what seemed like a week of celebrating our sweet and spunky little girl's birthday we had her Tinkerbell party on Sunday with family and Addie's little friends.  She was so excited about her friends coming and giving them their "presents" (aka party favors).  As always, LiLi out did herself with the sweet confectionaries.  This year we decided to have just cupcakes and I think they where just to cute with Tinkerbell's shoes and just a little bit of pixie dust!

The birthday diva had a small list of wants for her Tinkerbell party:  cupcakes, cookies, hats, streamers, and balloons.  I have to say that the balloons were the highlight of the day.  She carried them around, counted them, decided which colors she would give her friends, and most importantly the balloons she would keep.

After all of the friends arrived and enjoyed the mid 60 degree weather outside it was cupcake time!  Addie huffed and puffed with all of her might.

The three A's:
Aubree, Alli, and Addie

Look everyone... I am 3!

The way to this little girl's heart... presents!
Addie is set with art supplies, games, and puzzles.

The crazy little ones!
Always fun getting children to sit on the stairs for a pic!

After the sugar shoved into their little mouths, we headed outside to burn it off.

Our sweet birthday girl

I cannot believe three years have past since God gave us this little person to mold and to love.  Each day she teaches us a little more about love, faith, and patience.
Oh how I love this little girl!

My Buddy Mr. Bear

As I was putting together Addie's birthday slideshow I discovered someone who kept popping up in the pics... Mr. Bear!  Addie's favorite friend is named Mr. Bear.  The sweet thing about Mr. Bear is that Kyle picked out this sweet little fluffy bear the day we found out the little sweet pea in my belly was a girl.  We went to Babies R Us after the ultrasound and were looking at all of the sweet pink baby things and this little bear jumped out at Kyle and then me. This was the first girl/baby item we purchased for our baby.   I do not know really when or how Addie grew the attachment to Mr. Bear or how he got his name exactly.  All I do know is that the bear is never out of sight for long and goes a lot of places with our family.  One time we left Mr. Bear at the gym and I thought I was going to have a heart attack when Addie just lightly stated, "I left bear at the gym." from the backseat of the car when we were on our way home.
This is when I decided two things:
1.) Mr. Bear would not be going into stores or other places where he could be dropped.
2.)  I had it bad for this little bear and he was just as important to me as he is to Addie.
It is funny how a little fuzzy, not as pink as it once was, stuffed bear can symbolize so much about the little people that love them so much.  He goes with the flow and is always there for my little girl.  He gives comfort and friendship with out saying a word.  He takes a beating falling from strollers, rolling down stairs, and getting stuck in the slats of a crib. He helps Addie fall asleep by letting her rub his ear between her finger and thumb.
But he is always there for our little Addie Reese kind of how Addie Reese is there for us.

A Pirate Adventure With A Little Hide 'n Seek...

Recently Addie's pretend play has really started to take off.  She loves to act out her favorite television shows and books.  I do have to disclose that this pretend play made me realize how much my child LOVES her shows and how much she remembers from them.  Her favorite character to pretend to be is Pirate Dora.  She collects all of her "friends" and places them on the stairs which is really a pirate ship in her imagination.

Captain Addie and her crew ready to leave the port.

The next step is to get the "wheel" for the pirate ship.  She has designated one of Allie's dog toys as her helm.

Addie turn the wheel, Turn the wheel Addie!
"We have to get away from the rocks!"

Addie is always prepared because she always gets her picnic basket for the ride.

Captain Addie has to rescue her disobedient crew members who jump ship with her rope.
Sometimes I think they might be trying to get away from their bossy captain!
The only thing about the crew being rescued is they cannot climb the rope so first mate mommy has to get off the ship and help rescue them about 567 times a day.

"Baby Jaguar is in the ocean... we have to save him!"

The other past time Addie is enjoying these days is Hide 'n Seek.
She comes and tells me to count and off she goes.  We still need to work on the rules and technique of hiding as the following pictures show.  I especially love when I am trying to "find" her I describe where I am looking, "Is she behind the door?"  and a little voice calls out "No, I am in the bed!"  You have to love the honesty of a two year old.

She is getting a little better.

Happy Heart Day!!!!!

Let's Get Ready To Roll...

We recently tried a new activity with Addie...we went roller skating for our friend, Rylee's birthday party.  Typically, Addie is a 'fraidy cat' and is not willing to try new activities.  Not so with skating, she took to it like a duck to water.  She enjoyed herself so much that she asked her daddy to go hold some other little girl's hand, that she wanted to do it 'all by myself.'  Oh my, how quick they grow up.
