Adventures in Christmas Shopping and "I cannot wait to see the hotel room!"

It is that time of year again... The Sanders' Shopping Extravaganza!!!

This year the weekends just slipped up on us and we were not able to go east to the mountains. We were two Sanders short because Kristen was celebrating with her dad for his birthday and Clint was off being a great example in Trinidad on a mission trip. So alas we just hung around Nashville West and did the shopping there. Kyle and I were excited (mostly me) to pull our money together that J and J gave us and brought a new video camera. Now I can start really recording the good, bad, and the ugly:)
We could not go without the wee little Sanders for the day. We thought, 4 adults could swap off, tag team, and distract them for a day. And in the back of my mind I knew it was going to be pretty and the option of a playground could always be a fall back.

Of course Addie and Drew had a "great time" shopping for Christmas. I mean just look at Addie's face while see was my product model... I was sending a text to my "teacher girls" if they wanted these.

Drew was excited to bust out of the stroller and ride in the buggy...
I think he was telling us "on Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer, on Vixen...

After cruising the aisles of Target and Ross, and getting tired of hearing Addie's wish list grow as she looked at the toys, we thought it was time to burn off some energy at the new playground at the shopping complex. Addie and Drew had a blast running, climbing, sliding, and swinging.
Drew just thinks he is about 8 in a 20 month old body. He just wants to go which meant, daddy and mommy were just going...

We went to lunch at the loudest Buffalo Wild Wings ever to refuel for our next leg of the shopping extranvanga. This was our restauarant of choice so we could watch the SEC championship game for a while. The loudness helped cover up the fact that Drew is going through the I really do not want to sit in the high chair for more than 10 mins thus I am going to make it very difficult for you to eat anywhere:) Addie was in this stage from about 10 months( when she started to walk) to about 2 1/2 years of age. We are hoping Drew will be a little kinder to us. Drew likes to sit in laps while dining out and when there are 4 laps to choose from the "get up and down game" is even better.
We looked like a scene from The Supernanny of what not to do but it was fun.

After lunch we, headed to Opryland to see the lights at the hotel. We made a quick (two hours) stop at the Bass Pro Shop. Addie decided she needs to add one more item to her list....

After walking around the Bass Pro Shop, we headed to see the lights! The last time we visited the hotel at Christmas we were a family of three and Addie was 2 1/2... oh how things have changed. All she would say was, "Lets talk about the lights!"

This time she picked up on the fact that we were at a hotel. She thought we were going to spend the night and just kept saying, "I cannot wait to see our room. We are going to have so much fun spending the night." I guess we have a travel diva on our hands.

After we had seen the lights and the crowds inside,
we went outside for my favorite part of the trip...
The Nativity Scene.

I love the recording of Luke Chapter 2 playing while you look at the beautiful statues of our Lord's birth, nestled below the "ice" covered trees.
Although Addie was a little disappointed she could not go and give Baby Jesus a kiss it made for a nice little memory as she whispered questions in my ear.

Having fun with Poppy.

The "really big tree" as Addie called it...

This picture of Drew reminds me of Ralphie from the movie, A Christmas Story.

I was trying to get an artsy pic of Drew but he just wanted to point at my lens...

Ninnie and Poppy with their loves...

We went back inside to find some snacks for the road. Addie almost got sucked into the escalator and tripped over Kyle's feet while trying to thank him for the snacks which made her smack her head on the marble floor. I really do not know what her the girl more... The lost of her cookie or the marble floor??? All be it, this bunch was calling it a day.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
