Trick or Treat Part Two...

Well the final day of our Halloween festivities wrapped up on Sunday with Trunk or Treat at church.  Of course, I had to have a picture session before leaving. I had to chase Addie around the backyard to get her to break a smile for the camera.  I am going to pass out on the ground the day she sits, looks at the camera, and smiles on cue:) 

The only sad thing is Drew was asleep so I could not get any of my two little ones together.  

The pirate is having a little bit of trouble with her accessories...

"To the House" says our tired pirate.  When we got home she sorted all of the candy into piles of likes and dislikes to hand out to the trick or treaters that came to our door. 

Addie was so generous though, giving two handfuls... to each child, 

we only had about ten trick or treaters.

Trick or Treat Part One...

Our first Trick Or Treat of the Halloween weekend was in Lexington.  

We went to Ma's house for her annual soup and trick or treat night.  Not being from Lexington, I am still amazed to view the spectacle of Halloween in Pope Subdivision.  We are talking hundreds of kids in costumes and tons of candy being given away.  Hayrides, 4- wheelers, golf carts, and more toting children every which way to get all the candy they could possibly want.  All I can say is Addie loves to Trick or Treat on a golf cart and walking from door to door will never be an option for this child.

That was the answer my sweet little Addie gave me when, after two weeks of asking,

 "When are we gonna carve our pumpkin?" 

So here I was with four pumpkins and not a little person to help me.  

Well I guess I did have one baby boy to help me...

His helping included climbing up the pumpkin, kissing the pumpkin, and rolling the pumpkin.

Because Drew was having such a good time with the pumpkin, 

Addie decided she would come back to see what she was missing...

We carved the top off and Addie took one look and 

decided her toys were a little less messy and stinky.

So that left me to do the dirty work...

It's Here... Halloween Week.

If you could not tell, we have been a little busy with Halloween festivities around here. 

Between Addie's activities and my school activities 

we have been knee deep in pumpkins, candy corn, and more.

Kyle was the parent of the year because he juggled Wednesday court (his busiest day) to make it to her party.

A Pirate and a Purple People Eater...

This week at dance, Addie's week of Halloween festivities kicked off.  She got to wear her pirate costume and show off all of her dance moves.  This is the first time I have posted pics of Addie at dance because it took this long for her to adjust and get comfortable with the idea.

I cannot express how proud I was of her on visitor day.  Addie usually has a hard time with crowds and "new" things but today she marched right in... got on her circle... and let me sit and enjoy the show.  No pulling on my leg... no "mommy come with me"... just Addie doing the right thing.  This is a huge step for Addie and I can tell we are getting closer and closer to being four years old.  She has changed so much in the past 6 months.

    This past month, the class has been learning a Halloween dance to the song, Purple People Eater.  This is now Addie's favorite song and it is pretty darn cute to hear her sing it.  You can find it on my music list on the side of the blog.
