Hippity, Hoppity, It's Easter...

Our Easter weekend was kicked off with an Easter Egg Hunt. This was "THE EGG HUNT" of the year because the sponsor of the event was dropping 25,000 eggs from a helicopter. Of course this amount of excitement brought everybody out from the backwoods:) It was nice for Addie and Drew but it was really crowded and scary because people were loosing their children.

Drew getting his 2 eggs before I called it quits...
just look at the madness for candy behind me.

Addie waiting for the helicopter and her age division's egg hunt.

Drew and Kyle taking it all in.

The Drop...

Kyle gave Addie a plan. He told her to run to the "X" because that is where all of the eggs the helicopter dropped landed. She listened and conquered... in style of course.

The Easter Bunny came and Addie cannot believe he got in our house.
Last year he left them on the porch... oops!

Drew checking out Woody.

Addie reading her Easter Story Bible on the way to church.

After a wonderful Easter Sunday Church Service, we met LiLi, Poppa, Jason, Kelli, and Hayden at the park for a nice Easter Dinner. Since are reservations were not till 1:30 it was speed eating for the parents... but we are pros at that. After lunch, we went out on the bridge to take a look.

Jason and Hayden...

Everybody came over to our house for pictures, an egg and spoon race, dying eggs, and an egg hunt. Oh and I almost forgot, to watch the Masters.

Drew is just not sure about this today...

Let the Egg Hunt Begin...

As Easter breathes hope for a joyous tomorrow
E'en out of the depths of despair,
So may this day banish from you every sorrow
And make you feel free as the air.

While hearing grand anthems that swell to the sky,
And breathing sweet lilies' perfume,
May you feel assured that your soul will not die
As life does not end in the tomb.

Ordinary Days...

Addie, Mr. Bear, and I took in the local production of Beauty and the Beast.
It was absolutely wonderful.
The production was totally made up of children 18 years and younger.
Addie was just mesmerized by Belle.

Drew is beginning to love trains and this is his favorite one right now.
He got it for Christmas and loves watching the cow and the horse spin around.

Putting it on the track...

Addie had the chance to play with these lovely ladies.
Seems like they are always in the mood for a picnic or a tea party or a campfire...
I think that was the progression of their imaginary play that day.

Never a dull moment with this sweet girl... love her!

Happy Birthday Sweet Thadpole!

Gardening...

We were DIY landscapers a couple of weekends ago. Kyle wanted to pretty up under our maple tree in the backyard. The rabbits and squirrels keep going after our hostas so Kyle wanted to plant something that was not on their favorite foods list. So we went to Lowes to pick out some flowers. Kyle and I discovered a new place that Addie loves... the flower nursery. She picked out flower after flower for us to use "in our garden." She was telling us where we could put them, "this one could go on the porch" "this one could go next to the door" I mean we have a Martha Stewart on our hands!!!

As Kyle was digging holes for our new stuff, Addie and Drew were sent to the neighbors yard. Our neighbor has a hole in her yard where a tree used to be until last year's tornado. Addie and Drew began to dig in the hole and had a blast.

We had two hostas survive the rabbits and squrriel feast.
Addie gladly took them for "her garden"

Drew is looking for more dirt and worms...

Is she proud or what????

Here is the left over marigold from the back porch and picnic table.
Guess who took it????

What can Kyle do in two hours when the children are entertained???
Mow the backyard and plant 30 items under our maple tree.
Absolutely Beautiful!!!

Addie's Bike...

Addie has stated, "When I turn 5, I will ride a bike."
Well the moment has come and she has conquered. Poppy bought this bike at a yard sale two years ago for Addie. We waited and waited for her to tell us "when she was ready". Up until a few months ago, she was perfectly happy riding around on her tricycle.
Poppy is good at buying things ahead of time for when Addie needs them. For example, when Addie was three weeks old, he pulled up with a Radio Flyer tricycle... get what I am saying:) Well Addie loves her princess bike with streamers and bell. The only problem... she grew to fast and the bike is a little too small but she doesn't seem to mind.

Watch out here she comes!!!!

So what happens when Poppy finds out that Addie's bike is too little? He goes and buys a brand new bike and brings it to her the next weekend. All I can say, Poppy is coming with us when we go car shopping in 11 years. Addie is loving her new wheels. She almost has the hang of the brakes but still likes to go down the driveway, cut to the left toward the grass, and let Sir Issac Newton do the work for her.

Zoo TIme...

This is a flashback blog...
A few weeks ago, we took the whole Sanders/Primm family to the Nashville Zoo. It was St. Patty's Day and who knew the zoo is a hot spot on March 17th???? The line was crazy long to get in the zoo. Maybe it was the search for the leprechaun's gold or the fact that Dino Track just opened. But at any rate it was a wonderful day at the zoo for all!

Addie, a zoo veteran, was our stylish guide.
She took great pride in being the map holder.

Drew and Kyle checking out the monkeys...

LiLi and Addie counting the zebra's stripes.

They are ready to ride.

Poppa and Addie checking out the flamingos.

Addie doing her job and plotting our next stop.

Trying to get Drew out of the Meerkat hole.
He loved running in the tunnel.

Waiting to ride the zoo train...

Hayden and Kelli riding solo. Drew could not make up his mind about the train. He would cry to get on, cry to get off, cry when it left... so we just went to look at the tigers.

Kelli and Jason

Drew and Addie hiding from Mommy and her camera...

Drew picked the bear to ride next to... yes he would not get on top. No amount to begging or showing him how much fun everyone else was having was going to change his mind.

We saw the tigers and elephants... no lions or bears at the Nashville Zoo (or park as Kyle likes to say because he is a Memphis Zoo snob). We got in the car before the rain started.
What a great day at the zoo.

Kickin'

Our family has ventured into the wide world of sports. After asking Addie for the past two years if she wanted to play soccer, she finally decided this was the year. It is amazing what turning 5 can do to the spirit of a child. We signed her up and Kyle was asked to coach her team. They are having a blast together. Kyle has two rules for the four and five year olds on the team: No hands on the ball and have fun!

Kyle and Addie before the first game.

The first game of the season was very interesting. We have 6 children on the team. 3 children were at the first game. 1 was sick. 1 was playing his last basketball game. 1 was at baseball. So are little team had no breaks. No substituting. No room to breathe. They ran their legs off.

What was really funny was the "golden" soccer kid on our team.
This is he 2nd season and he is good. He scores all of the points and Addie just tries her best to keep up with him but her short legs just will not let her.

Half time with Coach Kyle..

Go Addie Go!!!

She really likes playing soccer and loves that Kyle is her coach.
It really is the best thing to watch 4 and 5 year olds play.
